Perhaps you would like to share your musical expertise and talent with a band, orchestra, or choral program in a K–12 school system. Or you might envision yourself using music in therapy with disabled youth or nursing home residents. You might be interested in applying your interest in music to work in therapeutic settings. This program can help you prepare for any of those types of career paths.

Our music education/music therapy programs attract a large number of students as the University is one of the few institutions in the upper Midwest to offer study in both areas. The college provides these programs in cooperation with the University’s School of Music. The demand is high for teachers and therapists in this field with positions available in a wide range of settings Music Education College.

The Associate of Arts in Performance (Voice) program includes a combination of general and vocal-specific courses designed to produce skilled, knowledgeable, and stylistically versatile contemporary vocalists. Courses are described below (see course catalog for specific course descriptions and other information). Combined with regular seminars, clinics, and small open counseling sessions with internationally-known singers, the AA-Percussion program provides the world's premier contemporary vocal Music Education College experience.
